The burial of the paramount ruler of Tivland, Alfred Torkula, who died on November 23, 2015 is ongoing.
The traditional ruler referred to as Tor Tiv IV, died in the early hours of Monday at a hospital in Abuja at 71 and had spent 24 years on the throne, having been corronated in April 1991 to succeed Chief Akperan Orshi.
The late Tor Tiv was the Chairman of the Benue State Council of Chiefs as well as the Pro Chancellor of Michael Okpara University in Abia State. He was said to be a force safeguarding the unity of the Tiv nation.
